Recently, there has been a rash of vehicle thefts in the Mount Vernon Magisterial District, especially in the Lorton community. Captain Joe Hill, Commander of the West Springfield District Station, wants all residents, not just in the Lorton community but in all areas, to be aware of this and to take the following precautions: Do not leave an unattended vehicle running anywhere, even in your own driveway.  Vehicles are being stolen from driveways while warming up on cool mornings.  Never leave your car running unattended! Do not leave any valuables inside your vehicle.  It is too tempting for thieves. Together we can prevent auto theft. Yours in public service, Gerry Hyland

 

 

Please be a good neighbor by parking your vehicles in the center of the space. The board has received complaints of cars being parked on or over the lines. Our documents do allow the board to tow any vechicle improperly parked without notice.

 TOSCA sadly reports the passing of John Cover on Saturday December 17th. John was a member of our board for many years serving as vice president and ACC chairman. He also served on other boards serving the Saratoga community. John was always a gentleman with a wealth of knowledge. We miss you already John.

 

Our community has experienced some serious incidents recently. They are occuring in areas where units are not using their outdoor lights. For your safety and security, the board is requesting that all units turn their outdoor lights from dusk to dawn daily.

Fairfax County has published a Neighborhood Concerns and County Services brochure designed to outline regulations established to promote health and public safety. 

 

A particular item of interest is the zoning regulations which state that no more than 4 unrelated people may live in a dwelling.  The number to call for overcrowding is703-324-1300.
